FAQ for patients

Do I need a doctor's referral to book an appointment? No.

How much does it cost per visit? $65. We book on the half hour. We are also happy to book one hour appointments.

Do you take ICBC claims? Yes. However, you will be charged a user fee as ICBC does not cover the full cost of treatment.

Do you take WCB claims? No, not at this time.

Do you make orthotics? No, but we can assess your need for orthotics and refer you to a pedorthist.

FAQ for insurers

Can you perform an assessment and write a treatment plan and report for my client? Yes. We can tailor the assessment and report to your needs.

Do you provide conditioning programs? The Go! Physiotherapists have had experience teaching kinesiologists injury-appropriate exercises and directing individualized post-MVA programs. Grace Cheung was a kinesiologist prior to pursuing her master's degree in physiotherapy. We provide a "Get Going" program that combines physiotherapy with a goal-oriented exercise program, where your client will be taught the appropriate conditioning exercises in addition to education and manual therapy as needed.

Manual and Manipulative Therapy

Manual Therapy means "hands on" therapy. There are many manual therapy techniques we incorporate into practice. These might include joint mobilizations, soft tissue massage, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques and active release techniques.

Manipulative therapy comes in handy when your injury is less responsive to traditional manual techniques.

Manipulations involve the use of a joint-specific, high-velocity thrust to restore joint mobility and reduce pain. Our physiotherapists who perform manipulations have been certified with post-graduate education in this area of practice.

Exercise and conditioning

We take pride in helping people keep fit, regardless of age. Exercises are tailored specifically for you, to alleviate strain and optimize performance. We provide therapeutic exercises to help healing; challenging exercises to prevent injury; general conditioning; on-field speed and agility training; athletic screening, posture improvement, as well as exercises to promote weight loss and reduce the waistline.

Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)

IMS is a needling technique that is used to treat many painful conditions caused, or aggravated by tight and painful muscle bands and in particular, the nerve supplying these muscles. When IMS treatment is applied to the spinal muscles, release of muscle tension can result in decompression of spinal nerves, and a reduction in pain in those regions of the body supplied by those nerves. Detailed knowledge of anatomy is required to ensure precise placement of the needles and maximum effectiveness of the treatment. A thorough examination, assessment and evaluation will be carried out by your physiotherapist to determine if IMS is a treatment of choice for you.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy treatments including: LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation); Ultrasound, High Voltage Pulsed Current (HVPC), Interferential (IFC), Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), Electromuscular Stimulation (EMS).

Community and corporate consulting (3C)

We value education and injury prevention within the community, and frequently give workshops. In corporate settings, we consult to improve workplace productivity.
